Meet the Team

Suzan Rickett
Executive Director
Suzan was born and raised in Uganda, and studied at Makerere University. Her path brought her to the Bay Area of California where she studied nursing. She married her husband, has 3 young boys and works as nurse.
Suzan's passion and love for children drove her to start Greater Vision International, together with her husband. The needs that the children in Sogolero have for basic nutrition, health and education is why she started this organization, and why so many young people in Uganda will have opportunities that they otherwise would never have.
Joel Rickett
Chief of Operations
Joel was raised in the Bay Area of California, where he met and married Suzan. Together they have started Greater Vision with the intention of helping children get a quality education, and receive nutrition and health services that they so desperately need.
Joel's experience working and volunteering with non-profits as well as his BA in business and MS in marketing help him in running the day to day operations of GVU. He seeks to raise awareness for the great need of education in Uganda and inspire others to join in the vision that he and his wife have through Greater Vision.
